Price on requestNew (Oct 23, 2026) feature that connects an AI agent to CIMCO Edit, the long-running G-code editor, so it can read and explain programs, make requested edits (feeds, tool changes, control-style conversion), run backplot/collision/axis-limit checks and summarize what it changed.
Fact sheet
| Category | AI CAM & Programming |
|---|---|
| Best for | Shops already on CIMCO Edit that hand-edit a lot of G-code at the control or prove out programs in simulation |
| Pricing | Not published on the announcement. Requires CIMCO Edit 2026 Ultra plus the NC Machine Simulation add-on (sold through CIMCO resellers). A free trial of CIMCO Edit is available. |
| Inputs | NC / G-code programs, tool, stock and fixture setup files |
| Deployment | Windows desktop software; you connect your own AI agent (Help > Connect to AI Agents) |
| Integrations | CIMCO Edit 2026 Ultra, CIMCO NC Machine Simulation |
| Typical shop size | 5-50 people |
| Notes | Edits aren't saved automatically and can be undone; CIMCO itself warns that AI edits can introduce collision risks and that you must rerun checks before cutting. Early reaction is mixed: at least one veteran CIMCO user (millpoint.dk) publicly called it unnecessary and risky. Treat it as a helper for reading and tidying code, not something to trust blind. |
