American job shops are being pitched AI from every direction. Some of it is genuinely useful: quoting tools that save an estimator hours a day, CAM plug-ins that draft the boring 80% of a program, a $60 sensor that tells you when a spindle is working too hard. A lot of it is hype.
We're not machinists pretending to be gurus. We're curators: we read the vendor pages, the customer stories, the forum threads and the posts from builders experimenting in their garages, and we write down what's real, what it costs, and how strong the evidence is.
How we work
- Every listing and case study links its sources. Unknowns are marked unknown.
- We label evidence: independent or published pilot, vendor-published, or self-reported.
- Case studies are written in our own words; we credit and link the original.
- Vendors can't pay for ratings or placement in the directory. Sponsorships are always labeled.
Who it's for
Owners, estimators, programmers and quality leads at US shops with roughly 5 to 50 people.
